#100 What Comes Next for This Newsletter

In January 2023, I published the first article in this newsletter. Since then, I have written about

My own investment strategy evolved during this period. I once considered sponsoring my own syndication, acting as the General Partner and raising money from investors for a self storage deal. After looking closely at that option, and getting a property under LOI, I decided that responsibly raising capital and managing investor relationships demanded more of my time than I wanted to give. I returned my full attention to passive investing.

I have now published 100 articles over nearly three years. In that time, I have said most of what I set out to say about passive investing as a general topic.

I write to provide useful information, not to repeat myself to stay visible or to grow an audience for its own sake.  The value of writing comes from whether it teaches the reader something they did not already know, not from how often it appears in their inbox. A newsletter that repeats itself to fill a schedule serves the writer more than the reader.

For that reason, I am changing how I publish this newsletter. I will publish less often. The articles will come when I have something new or useful to say, not follow a fixed calendar. The focus will also shift toward:

  • Reviews of events I attend
  • Answers to questions I am asked
  • Books that I find useful and interesting
  • Summaries of discussions I have with other investors
  • Opportunities that I am evaluating for my own investing portfolio

Passive investing remains one of the clearest paths to breaking dependency on a paycheck, and my belief in that has not changed even as the format of this newsletter does.
